The maiden edition of the Creative Awards was formally presented to the general public on Friday, April 21, 2006 at the Lagos Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja while the Creative Awards Seminar and Exhibition was held on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja, Lagos.
As a follow up to the first edition and in line with global practices, the Executive Board of the Association constituted a management board called LAIF Management Board (LMB) to take over the function of planning committee with a membership life span of three (3) years. This is to ensure stability in planning and coordination of the event as well as empower them to implement a long term plan for the success of the programme.
The seminar offers a unique learning experience as well as provides an in-depth insight into key marketing and marketing communications challenges. It is targeted at the senior executives of the advertising, media and marketing industry.
The Pre-Awards party is an item on the list of the LAIF Awards activities. It encourages the younger generation to participate in the celebration of great ideas as well as provide a platform for inter agency interaction.
