LPM | MOTHERHOOD SENTENCE Becoming a mother can trigger powerful emotions in a women - from excitement and joy to fear and anxiety. But it can also result in something you might not expect, depression. Rapid changes both physically and emotionally can often be attributed to this as a lot of new moms feel trapped after giving birth because their whole life as they knew it changes and they feel their life is not normal again. Most women have to deal with this alone because their partners do not understand what they feel. This is even worse in Nigeria as Postpartum Depression is not even considered a ‘thing’ yet whereas lot of women suffer from it in silence. With Mother’s day around the corner, our campaign aims to bring awareness to this issue that a lot of new moms may be experiencing.
